Wayne Mitchell

Managing Director

In 1984 Wayne Mitchell saw an opportunity to take his experience as a civil contractor and apply it to cross country water pipelines. In the four decades since, Wayne has led by example, challenging the status quo, to deliver industry leading innovation in construction methodology, quality and safety. Very much a ‘hands on’ person, Wayne prides himself on his strategic analysis of project risks and opportunities and ability to assemble right resources to deliver a safe and cost-effective solution to customers.

Robert Shelton

Chief Executive Officer / Director

Rob holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Hons) and has over 25 years’ experience in the civil construction industry, with particular emphasis in the construction of turnkey pipeline projects. Joining Mitchell in 1999, Rob has played an integral part in the business’s continual growth and evolution. Rob is a passionate believer in the importance of safety and quality in construction, and leads our commitment to diversity, equal opportunity, and indigenous engagement.

Lee Briggs

Chief Operating Officer / Director

Lee has worked on a wide variety of projects and has experience in a broad spectrum of engineering solutions. Holding a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Hons), Lee has over 25 years’ experience in the pipeline industry and has played a key role in developing the Mitchell patented plant, delivering efficient, safe and quality outcomes. Lee is committed to innovation and has worked with our clients to develop options that deliver not only a lower construction cost, but savings across the whole of life operations.

Steven Roberts

Chief Financial Officer

Steve holds a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and has a career spanning three decades in construction. Joining Mitchell in 2018, Steve has demonstrated strong financial, commercial, and strategic skills that allow the management team and clients to work collaboratively to ensure best project outcomes.

Rainie Ovenden

Corporate Services Manager

Rainie joined Mitchell in 2003 as a trainee Project Administrator and benefiting from Mitchell’s commitment to career development, she has completed a Degree in Business from the University of Melbourne with a focus on Finance and Market Analytics. During her career with Mitchell, Rainie has been involved in all aspects of operations and this has provided her a deep understanding of the business and how it impacts the communities in which we operate. Rainie is dedicated to achieving sustainable business results by ensuring Mitchell delivers positive outcome for all our stakeholders.
